VERB - auxiliary verbs

 VERB :

         Definition : verb is an action.

          Verb is classified into two major group. They are 

1. Auxiliary verbs           2. Main verbs.

      1. Auxiliary verbs :

                  Auxiliary verbs  are also known as helping verbs as they help the main verbs. They are further divided to two groups as

                 a . Primary auxiliary verbs

                 b . Modal auxiliary verbs.

        a . Primary auxiliary verbs  are 

                        * To Be 

                        * To have 

                        * To do 

          

             To Be - verbs are ,

                         am, is , are.  - present

                         Was , were -  past 

                         being.        - present participle

                          been.         - past participle 

             To have - verbs are,

                           Have,has - Present

                           Had.          - Past

                           Having     - Present participle

                           Had.          - Past participle

                  To do - verbs are,

                            Do, does.  - Present

                                    Did    -  Past

                               Doing.    - Present participle

                                   Done  - Past participle

          b. Modal auxiliary verb:

                    Can- could

                    Will - would

                    Shall - should

                    May - might 

                    Must 

                    Ought to

                    Used to

                     Need to
